STAGES FOR CHRONIC RENAL FAILURE



This article will briefly talk about the stages of chronic renal failure (CFR).

Basically, the severity of CRF is classified by assigning stages based on the glomerulus filtration rate (CFR).  Table below shows the classification of stages in CRF.

ANGGARAN KADAR PENAPISAN GROMERULAR (GFR) UNTUK UMUR 18 KE ATAS



Dianggarkan GFR biasanya akan mencukupi untuk menyediakan berguna 'ballpark' nilai untuk GFR. 

Kaedah yang paling banyak digunakan untuk menganggarkan GFR adalah persamaan Cockcroft-Gault. Persamaan ini menganggap kesan umur, jantina dan berat badan pada generasi kreatinin, sekali gus menyesuaikan nilai serum kreatinin untuk lebih tepat mencerminkan pelepasan kreatinin.



GFR = [(140 - umur) X berat badan (kg) X 0,85 jika perempuan] dibahagikan dengan [72 X serum kreatinin (mg / dl)]

ESTIMATION OF GROMERULAR FILTRATION RATE (GFR) FOR AGE 18 & ABOVE




Estimated GFR will usually be sufficient to provide a useful ‘ballpark’ value for the GFR. The most widely used method for estimating GFR is the Cockcroft-Gault equation. This equation considers the effects of age, sex and body weight on creatinine generation, thereby adjusting serum creatinine values to more accurately reflect creatinine clearance.


GFR = [(140 – age) X body weight (kg) X 0.85 if female ] divided by [72 X serum creatinine (mg/dl)]
